Phil Taylor has admitted the one thing he regrets about his storied darts career, and it serves as a massive warning to Luke Littler.
Having won a record 16 World Championships throughout his career, darts legend Taylor is widely regarded as the best player in the history of the sport.
However, after Littler claimed his first World Championship title on Friday night, becoming the youngest player ever to do so, some fans have claimed that he is well on his way to becoming the greatest of all time.

But ahead of what will almost certainly be a highly successful career for Littler, comments from Taylor about his career regrets should act as a stern warning to the talented 17-year-old.
After an incredible 36 year career, Taylor officially retired in 2023 after a hip injury forced him to withdraw from his last-ever tournament in the World Seniors Masters at the age of 65.
In total, he won 214 professional titles and a record 85 majors during his career, but admitted that there was one thing that he wish he had done more of during the peak of his career.

Speaking to The Mirror in 2014, the legend revealed that his iconic achievements had cost him a lot, admitting: "Looking back, I wish I'd spent more time at home. I was away more or less every week. But it's your job. Yvonne (Ex-wife) knew that."
"When you're looking after a big family, you've got to get off your backside and earn. That's the way I was brought up."
Ultimately, Taylor continued to compete in darts for several years after confessing he wished that he would spend more time at home, albeit to a lesser level due to his age.

When he retired in 2023, he revealed his injury to Online Darts, saying: "Everything was going fine, but then I just did a little too much and apparently I've torn my scar tissue. So yeah, it's a bit painful.
'It's been the worst pain I've ever had these last 12 months. Honestly, I'll be glad when this year is gone.
'I'll always love performing to the best of my ability, but time waits for no man and I know now is the right time to step away from the Tour."
