Darts fans are all saying the same thing after Luke Littler dominates in PDC World Championship final

Littler claimed his World title with a huge 7-3 win over Michael van Gerwen.

Darts fans have taken to social media immediately after Luke Littler won the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, and they're all saying the same thing.

After missing out on his first World title last year, Littler put on a dominant display as he beat three-time champion Michael van Gerwen in the 2025 final on Friday night.

The 17-year-old blew the Dutchman away in the early stages of the match, taking the first four sets before battling out to win another three, leading to a final score of 7-3.

And immediately after the end of the match, darts fans swarmed to social media to praise Littler and make one massive claim about his career.

Darts fans online took to X to share their disbelief at how well Littler played in the match, with some already claiming that he is the greatest player of all time.

Reacting to Littler's performance in the match, one fan wrote: "Luke Littler just the GOAT. Absolutely mesmerising stuff tonight."

Another added: "This is f******* outrageous littler is treating one of the greats like he’s playing me after ten pints."

While one fan boldly claimed during the match: "If Littler hits a 9 darter I’d just give him the GOAT status now, move aside Phil Taylor."

And another wrote: "I don't think you can underestimate actually how good Luke Littler is. Last year he could have been seen as a one-off. The guys actually a one-of-one. Goat status incoming."

Heading into the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, Littler was the fourth seed and the favourite to lift the Sid Waddell trophy, and his early performance on Friday displayed exactly why.

The Englishman's ability to set up and hit a double 10 finish on numerous occasions throughout the match is part of the reason why he was able to win the match so convincingly.

Although Van Gerwen was able to rally after his worst-case scenario played out in front of his eyes at the start of the match, the two sets he won simply were not enough to overcome Littler's dominance as at the Alexandra Palace on Friday.
