Darts star Brendan Dolan - nicknamed 'The History Maker' - has seen an incredible sporting streak come to an end after 14 years this week.
The Northern Irishman, 51, is currently ranked at world number 33 after recently dropping out of the coveted top 32 places.
Dolan lost 4-2 to Michael van Gerwen in the third round of the 2025 World Championship, having been defeated by Luke Littler in the quarter-finals of the previous year's tournament.

But 'The History Maker' has now relinquished his hold of a joint record that has stood for a staggering 14 years.
Since his first appearance in a Players Championship tournament in 2011, Dolan had played in each of the 319 events since then.
It is a streak only bettered by Steve Beaton, with 'The Adonis' entering 391 consecutive Players Championships between 2009 and 2024, when he lost his tour card due to his low ranking.
This week, the PDC hosted two PC events in Germany, with a number of top stars deciding not to make the trip.

Seven of the eight Premier League players, with Van Gerwen being the only exception, did not travel.
Dolan was another, with the 51-year-old instead deciding to stay in Belfast with his family.

PC7, which took place on Monday, was won by Gary Anderson, who defeated shock finalist Adam Lipscombe 8-3.

Tuesday's event was won by German home hero Martin Schindler, who thrashed Jeffrey de Graaf 8-1 in the final to win his first Players Championship title.
While there was a reduced field in terms of overall quality, a number of other top players did make the trip, including Damon Heta, Mike De Decker, Gian van Veen and Dave Chisnall.
Van Veen had an incredible two days in Leicester last week, reaching the final of PC5 before losing 8-7 in a thriller against Joe Cullen.
The Dutchman then netted his first PC title at PC5, defeating world number one Luke Humphries 8-3 in the final.
