Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was targeted by four items from individuals in the Liverpool end of Anfield, a new report has revealed.
The incident came after Phil Foden thought he had put the Premier League champions ahead midway through the second-half.
However, upon further review from match referee Anthony Taylor via the pitchside VAR monitor, the goal was chalked off due to a foul in the build-up.

That sparked an animated and angry reaction from Pep Guardiola, who proceeded to rile up the supporters within Anfield that were closest to his technical area.
Not too long after the moment, Manchester City were incensed and briefed that they had seen their manager targeted by coins from individuals among the Liverpool crowd.
Details of the incident have now come to light via sources from within the club, and relayed by one newspaper on Monday afternoon.

While the incident could have caused serious injury to the Manchester City manager, he did manage to see the funny side to it during his post-match reaction at Anfield.
Pep Guardiola said of the incident, “Next time they will do it better. They didn't get me.
“They tried but didn't get me.

Just hours after referring back to the attack on Manchester City's bus outside Anfield in 2018, another incident involving the coach occurred this time around.
