Following a dominant showing against Copenhagen on Wednesday night, Manchester City switch their attention back to the Premier League, as they host Southampton at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
In midweek, City continued to show why, despite not winning any continental silverware under Pep Guardiola, they are a Champions League superpower as they thrashed Copenhagen via a 5-0 scoreline.
The first-half was once again all about Erling Haaland, who managed to score a brace with his first goal putting the Cityzens ahead only seven minutes into the match.

The Norwegian superstar’s second would come in the 24th minute, as he tapped in a deflection off of a Sergio Gomez strike.
At the start of the second half, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola subbed off Haaland for Cole Palmer, who was making his first appearance in the Champions League this season.
As City's lead grew throughout the second half via a Riyad Mahrez penalty and a Julian Alvarez strike, the Catalan coach would continue to give some of his younger players time on the pitch, with the likes of Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Rico Lewis getting the opportunity to play.

After Wednesday’s win, Manchester City sit three points clear of Borussia Dortmund in Group G, as the second half of the group stage begins with a visit to Copenhagen on Tuesday night.
Next up is Southampton, who have struggled to get their season off on the right foot.
Going in to the weekend, the Saints have only managed to get seven points so far this season, with two wins against Chelsea and Leicester, as well as a draw against Leeds.
Their most recent match against Everton proved to be a tight affair, with just one goal separating the two sides at 90 minutes.

Pep Guardiola’s line-up on Saturday could see the return of Rodri, who sat out of Wednesday’s match as he continued to recover from a calf injury sustained during training ahead of last weekend's Manchester derby.
One player who is guaranteed to not be seeing any action for the foreseeable future is Kyle Walker, who underwent surgery on a groin injury sustained during the first half of the 6-3 win against Manchester United.
