Manchester City's 2022/23 Pre-Season Schedule: Training, Fixtures, Kick-Off Times

Despite Manchester City’s final-day heroics against Aston Villa transpiring back in May, the euphoria off the back of that fairytale comeback is yet to die down around the club.

A decade after Sergio Agüero’s iconic last-gasp winner against QPR that clinched Manchester City’s first-ever Premier League title, an Ilkay Gündoğan masterclass to do the same now has its own place in footballing folklore.

Overcoming the heartache that came as a result of the side’s gut-wrenching Champions League semi-final exit against Real Madrid, the season ended up as a massive success, with Pep Guardiola lifting his fourth league title in the past five seasons.

However, the 2022/23 season is set to bring a lot of change for Manchester City, which is a matter of excitement amongst those within the fanbase.

First things first, new signings Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips, and Stefan Ortega will play their football at the Etihad Stadium in the coming campaign.

Experienced squad members such as Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus have departed the club, with Raheem Sterling joining that list through a move to Chelsea.

Several young players have also bid farewell to east Manchester, including the likes of Samuel Edozie, Gavin Bazunu, Romeo Lavia, Darko Gyabi, and CJ-Egan Riley.

First things first, the Manchester City squad will report to first-team training on 11th July, after their time off during the summer.

The senior squad are expected to spend around a week in Manchester, before jetting off to the United States as their pre-season tour begins in less than a fortnight.

The Premier League champions will first kick-off against Club América on 21st July in Houston. Kick-off for viewers in the United Kingdom is at 01:30.

City will then Bayern Munich on 24th July at Lambeau Field - the home of NFL team Green Bay Packers in Wisconsin. Kick-off for viewers in the United Kingdom is at 00:00.

Upon returning from the United States, Pep Guardiola’s side will go toe-to-toe with Liverpool in the 2022/23 Community Shield on 30th July, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00, before the upcoming Premier League season gets underway the following weekend.

Manchester City supporters are expected to tune in to watch their side in action once again in big numbers, especially to catch more than a glimpse of the four new signings.

With the levels of competition rising season upon season, the Sky Blues will be hoping for a successful pre-season to head into the new campaign feeling sharp and ready to fight for silverware.
