Jurgen Klopp’s side did however beat a changed Manchester City team 3-2 at Wembley Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup Semi-Finals back in April, with the Sky Blues surprisingly 3-0 down at half-time.
In the Premier League, Manchester City were pegged back twice at the Etihad Stadium less than a week prior to the FA Cup exit, as Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane cancelled out first-half goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus.
At Anfield in October, Manchester City came from behind on two occasions during a thrilling match, with Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne both equalising.

Manchester City and Liverpool are due to meet at the King Power Stadium in July for the Community Shield, with the first Premier League meeting taking place at Anfield on October 15th.
The mouthwatering clash at Anfield comes before the FIFA World Cup, and Pep Guardiola’s side will face the Reds either side of matches against Southampton and Arsenal.
The return fixture will take place at the Etihad Stadium on April 1st, and is set to be 192nd meeting between the two North West rivals.
