Following their win against Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night, Manchester City return to Premier League action as they take on Fulham this weekend.
During the week, City played host to Spanish side Sevilla in European competition, in a match that saw Pep Guardiola give multiple fringe players a chance to show their progress, as Cole Palmer, Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega, and Rico Lewis all featured in the starting line up.
Despite beating the La Liga side 0-4 in the reverse fixture, Wednesday’s match wasn’t always in the Blues’ favour.

30 minutes in, and Rafa Mir headed a ball into the far post, out of Stefan Ortega’s reach, putting Sevilla ahead.
In the second half, Manchester City did what they’ve done more than once this season, and come from behind to win the game.
In the 53rd minute, in the midst of Manchester City’s offensive blitz, Julian Alvarez got a hold of the ball and threaded it through to Rico Lewis, who glided it past Bono’s gloves, levelling the game.
Nearly 20 minutes later, Alvarez would give the Cityzens the lead, as he ran with the ball past a diving Bono, before striking it in.

Riyad Mahrez would seal off the victory as he received the ball on the outskirts of the penalty box before soaring it into the uprights, making it 3-1.
With their victory over Sevilla, Manchester City ended the group stage at the top, advancing to the round of 16, with their opponents being drawn on Monday 7th November.
On the other side of Saturday’s ticket sits Fulham, who have been running off decent form as of late. Their most recent game was a draw against Everton, in a match which remained scoreless despite the hosts launching over 24 shots.
Guardiola will go into the weekend’s clash with a few players on the bench as Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips remain out. Erling Haaland may join the Three Lions partnership on the bench, however Guardiola said that he would decide on Friday.
