With Manchester City continuing to pursue their greater priority transfer targets ahead of the opening of the 2022 summer transfer window, the longer-term plans of Etihad Stadium officials continue to be detailed in reports.
City are known to be in the market for a new full-back this summer, with Brighton & Hove Albion's Marc Cucurella known to be a key name in the club's shortlist, however one eye is always kept on ways to refresh other positions further down the line.
One such position that may require attention in the not too distant future is the wide attacking positions, with a number of key first-team stars approaching the final year of their respective Manchester City contracts, with some linked with Etihad exits in the coming weeks.

One such name that is reportedly of interest to Manchester City and their coaching staff is Arsenal and England international forward, Bukayo Saka - who remains in somewhat of an uncertain contractual position at the Emirates Stadium.
According to the information of The Daily Mail, Manchester City have now 'stepped up' their interest in the 20 year-old star, with Etihad officials 'closely monitoring developments' surrounding the player's future as he approaches the final two years of his current deal.
It is further stated that along with Liverpool, Manchester City have now 'earmarked' Bukayo Saka as a future transfer target. While a summer move for the Arsenal man is described as 'unlikely' by the report, it is highlighted that Manchester City have started showing their interest at a critical stage in the London club's attempts to secure Bukayo Saka's long-term future.

As the 2022/2023 season approaches, Manchester City officials are firmly aware of the contractual situation that concerns some of their main first-team attackers.
Raheem Sterling is set to enter the final year of his contract, whilst also attracting interest from a number of Europe's top clubs, including long-term admirers Real Madrid. Gabriel Jesus is expected to leave this summer, with Arsenal the likeliest destination at present.
Riyad Mahrez is also set to enter the final 12 months of his deal, although there is an understanding in some quarters that the Algeria international is likely to be keen to enter fresh talks over renewed terms with the reigning Premier League champions.

Given the extent of some of City's first-team stars' uncertain futures, it is subsequently no surprise that names to be recruited in the attacking positions are beginning to be linked with Etihad Stadium transfers.
