A new report claims that Pep Guardiola’s side are keen on the signature of VfB Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa.
As Manchester City begin their pre-season tour of the United States, the club have already completed a chunk of their transfer business.
With City’s failure to land a Sergio Agüero replacement last summer, the likes of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez have come in as statement additions.

Considering Zack Steffen’s alarming outing in the side’s FA Cup semi-final exit against Liverpool during the previous campaign, an upgrade, in Stefan Ortega, has walked through the door as the brand-new second-choice goalkeeper.
And last but certainly not the least, Kalvin Phillips has been signed as a replacement for Fernandinho, who departed the club this summer.
However, a position that remains to be strengthened is at left-back, especially with Oleksandr Zinchenko’s move to Arsenal looking all but confirmed.

It had been widely suggested that Pep Guardiola’s side were willing to part ways with the 25-year old, with Brighton's Marc Cucurella in mind as their ideal replacement.
While the Spaniard looked set to don sky blue at one point, the switch seems to be stalling at current.
It was recently mentioned that the Seagulls were discussing an improved contract for the talismanic full-back.
Recent reports have also claimed that the Premier League Champions are not planning to budge and agree to the Seagulls’ valuation in excess of £50 million for the 23-year old.
Keeping all these factors in mind, it seems as if the club’s interest has been piqued by a newfound alternative.

As per a report by BILD, translated and relayed by Get German Football News, Manchester City have shown interest in signing VfB Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa.
It has been claimed that the club would be willing to sanction Sosa’s departure in the range of €20 to €25 million in the summer.
However, the English powerhouse face stiff competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona for his signature.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are understood to be targeting the Croatian’s arrival in a bid to replace Omar Richards, who has recently joined Nottingham Forest.
With one goal and eight assists for a 16th placed Stuttgart side in the Bundesliga last term, it comes as no surprise why Sosa’s electric displays have particularly caught the eye amongst numerous suitors in Europe.
All signs point to why the 24-year would make for a potentially cracking addition for the Sky Blues as well.
However, it is likely that City will step up their pursuit to land long-time target Marc Cucurella after Oleksandr Zinchenko’s exit from the club is confirmed.
