A whole host of Manchester City’s most highly-acclaimed youngsters have moved on to pastures new this summer.
The likes of Gavin Bazunu and Romeo Lavia could not turn down the golden opportunity of becoming regular starters in the Premier League, as they decided to join Southampton for a combined £26 million fee.
The same goes for Darko Gyabi, who left the Premier League champions to sign for Leeds United in a deal worth £5 million.

CJ-Egan Riley also decided to bank on his own talent by bidding adieu to Pep Guardiola’s side and reuniting with Vincent Kompany at Burnley.
Samuel Edozie could soon join this list, as it has been stated that a fee is being agreed between City and Bayer Leverkusen before his exit becomes official.
However, a starlet whose summer plans remain up in the air up until this point is Yan Couto.

Returning from a fruitful loan spell at Braga, it was initially claimed that the gifted right-back was keen on a successive spell in Portugal.
However, the Sky Blues were seemingly against this possibility, as they wanted to send the Brazilian out on loan to an English club next term.
Soon after, it was stated that the 20-year-old had already informed club director Txiki Begiristain of his desire to leave City, as he was focused on leaving amicably.
The player was understood not to be expecting to be in Guardiola’s plans and as a result, wished to move on to another club competing for silverware.

While six clubs across the world had reportedly shown an interest in signing the Sky Blues defender, it seems like there is finally a sense of clarity about his destination next term.
As per a report by Catalan newspaper L’Esportiu, Girona are said to be closing in on the signing Couto on loan from City.
It has been mentioned that with the City Football Group-owned side’s promotion to the La Liga, the skilful right-back is more open to the prospect of joining the side.

It was previously also suggested that Couto was fancying a return to his homeland, with Flamengo touted as a possible home for the in-demand Brazilian.
However, the lack of regular game time could potentially have hampered his career as opposed to his fellow counterpart such as Issa Kabore, who made waves for Troyes last season.
With Kyle Walker having turned 32 this year, Couto would have to grab opportunities such as heading out on loan to Girona with both hands to potentially become a successor to the ageing right-back.
As it stands. Joao Cancelo's versatility has meant the pair of them have been City's go-to men for over two years now.

However, some youngsters like Josh Wilson-Esbrand have also impressed in pre-season and are likely to earn a chance to impress in the Premier League.
