Manchester City will consider bids for Raheem Sterling this summer as Chelsea eye a swoop for the forward, according to a new report.

The 27-year-old is said to have confirmed he would like to leave ahead of the new campaign after spending seven years in Manchester.

Chelsea have registered the strongest interest in Raheem Sterling and are expected to make a £50 million bid for the forward in the coming week.

Thomas Tuchel has identified Sterling as a priority addition to his squad and has held positive talks with the former Liverpool man over where he would fit into Chelsea’s starting XI.

Sterling is understood to have enquired about what life is like at Stamford Bridge under the German manager, who replaced Frank Lampard as Blues boss last year.

As he enters the final year of his current deal at the Etihad Stadium, Sterling could leave this summer or extend his contract at Manchester City.

Whilst Manchester City are believed to retain hopes of Sterling staying put, there is confidence amongst all parties that Chelsea will soon close a deal for the England forward.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly held talks with City over their valuation for the four-time Premier League winner, who could be the first statement signing for the west London club’s new ownership.

Despite hoping to stay at City, Sterling was not provided with assurances over regular game time by Pep Guardiola, who started the winger 32 times in his side’s 58 games across all competitions last season.

As he enters the prime years of his professional career, Sterling has realised he has to be playing week-in, week-out to unlock his true potential.

With Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez already added to Guardiola’s attack ahead of the upcoming campaign, the Kingston-born attacker is understood to be eyeing a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are understood to have held an interest in Raheem Sterling but Chelsea are leading the race to sign the Manchester City ace.

City would ideally want to keep Sterling, who has been a key figure during Pep Guardiola’s reign in Manchester, but understand he may want a move this summer.

The Blues will also be aiming to avoid the risk of losing Sterling for nothing when his contract expires next summer.

According to a new report by Charlie Wyett of The Sun, Manchester City have informed Raheem Sterling they will consider offers for the forward this summer.

Sterling is excited by the prospect of joining forces with Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge and informed Manchester City of his desire to leave at the start of the month.

It has been mentioned City will look to accept any suitable offers for Sterling this summer, with several reports suggesting Chelsea are set to make an offer for the forward imminently.

Gabriel Jesus will soon be confirmed as an Arsenal player and Raheem Sterling could follow the Brazilian through the exit door at Manchester City and wear the blue of Chelsea next season.
