WATCH: Leroy Sané Reunited With Ex-Manchester City Teammates Ahead Of Bayern Munich Clash

It is common amongst football fans to hold fruitful partnerships across any area of the pitch in high regard for years to come.

Manchester City supporters are no different in this respect, with many reminiscing over the admittedly short-lived, yet telepathic connection up front between Sergio Agüero and Alvaro Negredo to this day.

Similarly, many have cited how the Argentine’s partnership with fellow countryman Carlos Tevez was a sight to behold back in the day.

Another link-up that is often heralded by many is how well Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott performed in tandem - especially during the 2011/12 season in which City won their first-ever Premier League title.

Amongst this list, several fans often discuss how much they long for Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sané to be reunited on the pitch again in Sky Blue one day.

The Belgian midfielder’s unparalleled eye for a pass coupled with the German winger’s searing pace was a sure shot recipe for goals on the break.

This partnership was at the peak of its powers during the Centurions season, where a regular feature of City’s goals would involve the duo combining to put the ball into the back of the net.

In 2019 however, Sané bid farewell to Pep Guardiola’s side in favour of a switch to Bayern Munich.

After two full seasons, the once-electric pair are set to be reunited once again as the Premier League champions face the Bavarian giants in their second and final pre-season friendly in Wisconsin.

In the build-up to the much-awaited clash, it is clear that there is no love lost between the duo.

Kicker journalist Georg Holzner shared a video in which Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane engaged in a warm embrace, before having a chat during both sides’ respective training sessions.

A heart-warming picture also surfaced, courtesy of journalist Kerry Hau in which the pair are seen continuing their conversation on the sidelines at Lambeau Field.

While De Bruyne and Sane seem extremely pally to this day, such feelings will turn to dust when the contest kicks off in the early hours of Sunday.

The Premier League champions are expected to miss key players such as Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte .

But they will be hoping to put in a statement performance before facing Liverpool in the Community Shield in just a weeks' time.

Being the elite competitors the pair are known to be, De Bruyne and Sane would be fired up to guide each other’s respective sides to victory.

The game is scheduled to kick-off at midnight (UK) in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
