Confirmed Line-Ups: Liverpool vs Manchester City (Premier League)

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have submitted their starting line-ups for the latest instalment of the Liverpool and Man City rivalry.

Manchester City take on Liverpool in the Premier League this afternoon, as they look to get back to winning ways following midweek disappointment, and maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

In the English top-flight, Pep Guardiola's side could quite obviously not be coming in to this fixture any higher on confidence.

Their last outing saw them secure another three points in the Premier League, as they cruised past a Southampton side that have caused them problems in recent meetings.

While the free-scoring Erling Haaland failed to notch in the first-half against the Saints, it was Joao Cancelo and Phil Foden who put Manchester City into a strong 2-0 half-time lead.

Riyad Mahrez struck from the penalty spot in the second-half, before the aforementioned Norwegian frontman secured his inevitable goal of the day with a simple stroke home from a Cancelo delivery.

Last time out, it was Copenhagen who hosted the Blues in the Danish capital on Tuesday evening.

Following a first-half marred by VAR drama, Manchester City were forced in to holding out in the second-half and returning to England with a solitary point to their name.

Sergio Gomez saw a straight red in the first period of 45 minutes following a professional foul, while Rodri had his long-distance strike ruled out due to a handball in the build-up.

Riyad Mahrez also saw a penalty saved by the outstanding Kamil Grabara in the Copenhagen goal.

Nevertheless, results elsewhere in Champions League Group G meant that City booked their place in the knock-out stage of the competition - which will begin in 2023.

Ahead of kick-off at Anfield, both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have now confirmed their respective starting line-ups!
