Manchester City could allow Liam Delap to leave the club this summer.
The 19 year-old striker, who made his first-team debut two years ago, made just three senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side during the 2021/22 campaign.
Delap featured from the substitutes bench against Fulham in the FA Cup, Norwich in the Premier League and Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League last season, but spent the majority of the campaign helping the City EDS side win the PL2 under Brian Barry-Murphy.
Guardiola is set to welcome two new strikers to his squad ahead of the new campaign, with Erling Haaland having completed a £51 million move from Borussia Dortmund and Julian Alvarez signing from River Plate for an initial £14 million.

The arrival of the attacking duo has now reportedly led to the Sky Blues considering other options for the teenage striker.
Delap scored 8 goals in 10 showings during an injury-hampered campaign with the City EDS side, though the season prior tallied an impressive 24 goals and five assists in 20 PL2 appearances.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the club are now prepared to potentially let the 19 year-old leave, and that both Burnley and Southampton are interested in the striker.

The Saints, who have already secured the signatures of goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu and midfielder Romeo Lavia from City this summer, are claimed to be interested in a permanent move for Delap.
Meanwhile, Burnley, who are managed by former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, have asked for the 19 year-old on a season-long loan.
The Clarets were relegated to the Championship on the final day of the Premier League season, and have already acquired the services of CJ Egan-Riley and Taylor Harwood-Bellis from the Sky Blues.

The Champions are due to travel to the United States for pre-season friendlies against Club America and Bayern Munich on Saturday, and a decision on Delap’s future could come before that, as Romano reports that a final decision will be made in the ‘next days’.
Southampton have also recently appointed Joe Shields as head of senior recruitment at St Mary’s.
Shields had previously been head of recruitment and talent management at the Etihad Stadium.
Ralph Hasenhuttl and Vincent Kompany have both already made signings from the Blues’ incredibly successful academy this summer, so will Liam Delap be the latest to leave in search of regular first-team football?
