With the 51 year-olds contract due to expire at the end of the current season, his claims will give optimism to everyone associated with the club that he will extend his successful spell at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola praised his team’s dramatic last-gasp victory over Fulham last weekend, as the Blues secured a vital three points courtesy of an injury time Erling Haaland penalty.
To most fans this is quite a statement and will offer encouragement that Guardiola is still engaged with life at the club, given the City job is his longest managerial post to date.

“This is not [just] me to them, or them to me. This is feedback. I give them enthusiasm, but they give it to me,” he said.
“The way they play, I see the faces of our people. They give me the energy for the future, for Chelsea and Brentford.
“I cannot disappoint them, I have to be there with them,” he explained.

Manchester City playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne, felt Guardiola’s response displayed a mixture of emotions after securing a tense victory with only 10 men, after Joao Cancelo was sent off in the first half.
“It was the same as us - everything came out,” the Belgian said.
“It is sometimes these games at the end of the season that you look at and they are really important, so it was nice for us,” he continued.

De Bruyne admits that he does have a little suspicion of what Guardiola's future plans are however.
“I think he is more and more relaxed as he’s been so long with us. I think for him it is also easier because if you go to a new team you have to teach again.
“Now after seven years it is repeating itself, so I feel there is less of an edge sometimes and maybe it is more calm for him.
“But to be honest I don’t know. I don't think you’ll get much out of him. Everything is fine. He’s got his contract until the end of the year and after that we’ll see.”
