With the Argentine striker still playing for River Plate, many Manchester City fans have been left wondering when Julian Alvarez will arrive in England this summer.
The 22 year-old forward is expected to play a role in Pep Guardiola's first-team squad in the coming season.
With the departure of Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, and Raheem Sterling's expected move to Chelsea to follow, City have been in need of reinforcements in attacking positions.

The deal for Alvarez was completed in January, but Etihad officials deemed it necessary to keep the player at River Plate until City completed their own season.
Erling Haaland also signed a contract with the Premier League champions last month, completing a £51 million move from Borussia Dortmund.
However, with Julian Alvarez still playing for River Plate and Manchester City's pre-season training camp edging closer, some fans have been left wondering when the player will move to England.

A new report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the date of travel for the exciting young Argentine star.
Publishing on social media on Sunday morning, Romano has reported that Julian Alvarez will travel to Manchester on July 8th, in order to start his new chapter as a City player.
It is further stated that his new employers will also approve the sale of Raheem Sterling, once an agreement with Chelsea has been reached.
As a direct result, the following plan will be to keep Álvarez as part of Pep Guardiola's first-team squad.
Following City's deal at the turn of the year, there has been significant interest in Alvarez from a host of European clubs in a season-long loan deal for the player.

However, from the part of the English top-flight side, their stance has always been simple: They want to keep the player.
While Julian Alvarez could act as a deputy to Norway international Erling Haaland next season, the player is capable of playing in all three positions across the forward line.
This could add an extra dimension to Manchester City's attacking threat, and possibly even rule out the need for a direct Raheem Sterling replacement.
On Saturday night, it was reported by The Sun newspaper that City officials had identified a replacement for Sterling, should his move to Chelsea be completed.

That player is Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry - who could leave the Bundesliga giants for as little as £35 million this summer given his current contract stand-off at the Allianz Arena.
Elsewhere, City are in active negotiations with Brighton & Hove Albion over the potential signing of £50 million-rated left-back, Marc Cucurella.
Developments on the aforementioned situation are expected in the coming days, as talks intensify between the relevant parties.
