Manchester City's Jack Grealish was left 'devastated' after being left out of Pep Guardiola's starting line-up against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, a new report has revealed.
The Premier League champions succumbed to their first defeat of the new season, following an exemplary start to the campaign.
In the days leading up to the trip to Merseyside, Manchester City had also secured progression to the Champions League knock-out stages, that get underway in 2023.

Despite a frustrating 0-0 draw in the Danish capital, in a game that also saw Sergio Gomez receive a red card for a professional foul during a Copenhagen attack, results elsewhere benefitted Pep Guardiola and his players.
Borussia Dortmund's 1-1 draw with Sevilla means the English top-flight side will now go head-to-head with the Bundesliga club for top spot in Champions League Group G.
Manchester City then looked to get back to winning ways the following weekend, as they faced an out of sorts Liverpool side, who were desperate to begin making some ground on the leading pack in the Premier League.
One man who was keen to continue his exciting run of form in the Premier League was Manchester City's £100 million forward Jack Grealish.
The England international had a challenging start to the season, but began to pick up form in recent games, leaving many fans somewhat surprised when the former Aston Villa captain was not named in City's starting eleven at Anfield.

Now, it has been revealed - according to the information of Football Insider - Jack Grealish was left “devastated” after being omitted by Pep Guardiola for Manchester City's showdown against Liverpool last Sunday.
The report quotes friends of the City forward, who state that the 27 year-old was also “gutted” by not getting a single minute in arguably the club's biggest match of the ongoing season so far.
While failing to make an appearance against Jurgen Klopp's side will certainly be disappointing for Grealish, Manchester City have a packed upcoming schedule that will likely heavily involve the big name signing of 2021.

Upon joining the South Coast club, De Zerbi revealed how he had held talks with City's Catalan coach, who even went as far as to offer tips to the Seagulls' new boss.
Speaking last month, the Brighton manager said, "I spoke to Pep (Guardiola), yes.
"He's very happy that I'm on board here.
