Manchester City retained their Premier League title in dramatic fashion on the last day of the season in May, and in the process, quelled Liverpool’s hopes of completing an unprecedented quadruple.
Three goals in less than six minutes sent shockwaves around the Etihad Stadium, as two goals from Ilkay Gundogan and a long-range strike from Rodri secured the Sky Blues’ fourth Premier League title in five years, as Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa collapsed to a 3-2 defeat.
