Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has delivered a crucial fitness update surrounding Erling Haaland, ahead of the weekend's football schedule.
The Norway international striker was substituted at half-time in midweek Champions League action against Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking after the game, Pep Guardiola offered some insight into the withdrawal of his star frontman, admitting that the change was for once not purely a case of needed rest or tactical tweaking.

“Erling had a bit of fever before the game, Joao (Cancelo) as well. I saw him tired, Joao as well. That’s why we change it. In that period we struggled a lot.
The Manchester City manager continued on Haaland by explaining, “Three things: I saw him so tired.
"The second one, he had a bit of a fever, like Joao (Cancelo). The third, he had a knock in his feet.
"That is why he wasn’t able to play in the second half.”

It was the issue surrounding Erling Haaland's foot that caused the most concern, but when quizzed on the problem, the City boss was unable to provide any real detail immediately after the game in Germany.
“I don’t know right now,” he said. “I spoke with (the medical staff) at half-time and they were a little bit concerned, but I saw him walking more or less normally."
On Wednesday, upon his arrival in Manchester, the City forward was then spotted arriving at the Manchester Institute of Health & Performance for further assessment.
One report claimed that the Norway international had subsequently been cleared of serious damage to his foot, despite being spotted limping into the centre.

Perhaps the most encouraging take from that development was that Erling Haaland was later spotted leaving without the aidf of crutches or a protective boot.
Now, speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Pep Guardiola has provided the all-important update ahead of the club's trip to Leicester in the Premier League this weekend.
The City boss told the media on Haaland: "We will see how he feels in his foot and after we will decide.
"He feels better but we will train this afternoon and we will assess in a few hours.

"We will see how he is feeling and then we will decide."
Asked about the fitness of the rest of the squad, the Catalan said: "Everyone had trained well. I have to wait until they come back [this afternoon] and see how they feel."
England duo Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips remain sidelined.
