While some initially suspected his allegiances towards Manchester City, Erling Haaland confirmed his love for the Sky Blues in his first interview with the club.
“I was born in England. I have been a City fan my whole life. I know a lot about the club.”
With his father, Alfie Haaland spending three seasons at the club, it was only natural that he grew up having an affinity towards the blue side of Manchester.

Much like any other Manchester City supporter, Erling Haaland has named Sergio Agüero as one of his biggest idols growing up.
Being a striker himself, it adds up why the youngster always looked up to the current all-time top scorer at the club.
As a result, it comes as no surprise to discover how elated he was after witnessing the Argentine legend’s unforgettable ’93:20’ goal in 2012.

“I remember it so well," he recounted in an exclusive interview with FourFourTwo.
“Like it was yesterday. It was crazy.
"The day had been all about winning. This was our moment, this was the day the club became champions.
"I remember we settled down to watch, my dad was as excited as me, but things just went crazy."

Haaland continued, "City are losing to 10-man QPR. We’re massive favourites, and we’re losing. Manchester United have won [their game against Sunderland]. It’s despair. But then, after 91 minutes I think, Dzeko scores.
"There’s hope but there’s so little time."
Erling Haaland recalls how he felt after Sergio Agüero’s last-gasp winner ended the Sky Blues’ 44-year drought to win the league in dramatic fashion.
“The winning goal felt so strange," he opened.

“Balotelli lying on the ground but somehow getting the ball to Agüero. The striker shuts his eyes and he hits it, then it’s madness.
"Me, my dad, we’re up off our seats, we’re running around the living room screaming. The top comes off, and it’s spinning around the head. Special. What a moment.”
Much like every Manchester City fan, possibly the Premier League’s outright greatest moment lives fresh in the memory of Erling Haaland to this day.
