The 43 year-old has officiated 11 matches so far this season, showing 49 yellow cards and no red cards.
Pawson last took charge of the Sky Blues in July, officiating the FA Community Shield loss at the King Power Stadium.

The referee will be accompanied at the Etihad Stadium by Assistant Referees Marc Perry and Scott Ledger.

Overviewing proceedings from Stockley Park on Saturday will be Video Assistant Referee Lee Mason.
