Tyson Fury has laid down a challenge to Jon Jones after the UFC superstar issued a message to him on social media.

The exchange between Fury and Jones comes after Joe Rogan claimed the UFC heavyweight champion would beat the undefeated boxer in a hypothetical showdown.

Speaking on his podcast, the UFC commentator said: "You want to talk about who's the baddest man on the planet? If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I'm pushing all of my chips on black.

"Tyson Fury is an amazing boxer - he doesn't have a f**king chance in hell of making it out of that room. He has no chance of making it out of that room. Zero chance.

"[Fury] would have to catch Jon immediately with one punch, and I just don't see that happening, man."

Naturally, Rogan's claim didn't go down well with the self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' who fired back with a profanity-filled message.

"I heard Joe Rogan say something about me, and I've been off all the social medias and didn't reply to that little p**sy, little f**king midget, bald-headed midget," he furiously said.

"I heard him say that Jon Jones could f**k me up if we were in the room together.

"I don't think so. Not a man born from a mother could f**k me up, in a room, on our own. Whatever happens in that room, I'd be walking out. Not a f**king problem."

Jones backed Rogan and called for a bout against Fury in a cage.

"Hey Tyson, it seem like Joe may have struck a nerve," he tweeted. "I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage. If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana [White] a call. I’ll help you out."

Well, Fury has since hit back, insisting he's not an MMA fighter - but would happily welcome 'Bones' to the ring for a boxing bout.

"I see Jon Jones has piped up, Jon you're talking about me in the cage. I'm not a cage fighter mate I'm a boxer, the best boxer actually," he said in a video on Instagram.

"If you want to come into a boxing ring and fight me, be my guest and let me know. You don't have to call anybody else, no dramas, nobody," he continued. "You call me because it's a boxing fight and I'm the boss in this gym, me.

"You're a great fighter Jon, but you're no boxer that's for sure. All the best and good luck."

It looks like Fury has moved on from ex-UFC heavyweight king Francis Ngannou as he eyes a monstrous fight against Jones.

However, of course, the reality of Fury vs. Jones happening is extremely unlikely considering the MMA fighter's contract with the UFC.

But that won't stop the bickering between the two combat heavyweight beasts.
