Fight fans were left in disbelief at Tommy Fury's outrageous 'world championship level' claim when asked about potentially fighting Viddal Riley.

Fury was in attendance at York Hall on Friday as Riley blew away Anees Taj to improve his professional record to 9-0.

The 24-year-old, who hasn't fought since his victory over Jake Paul last February, was asked about taking on Riley following his big win.

But he's not interested in facing the 25-year-old, claiming his rival is not a 'big enough draw' and lacks 'global pulling power'.

Fury also insisted that he's operating at a 'world championship level' as he hopes to take on KSI next.

"All due respect to him but he's not a big enough draw. At the end of the day who is he outside of boxing? He's not really anybody. He's got no global pulling power. He can't do any pay-per-views," he told Sky Sports.

"Viddal's fighting a lot lower than me. Say what you want about opposition but I'm fighting at a world championship level - I'm doing millions of pay-per-view buys with all these big names. I'm not going to be foolish and drop down and fight Viddal Riley."

Fury then talked up a rematch with 'The Problem Child', adding: "I've said my hitlist. Jake Paul's already been struck off, KSI is next,

"Then from what I've seen the other day Jake Paul wants it again in February. Listen, I'm happy. I'm happy keep these fights rolling in."

Needless to say, Fury's 'world championship level' claim sent social media wild as they mocked the unbeaten boxer's comments.

One Twitter user wrote: "That's an interesting way to duck opposition when you're fighting YouTubers. Will remember this when the next pro he fights is another journeyman."

A second tweeted: "It’s terrifying that he actually believes he’s world level. Take a moment to think what Beterbiev would do to him."

A third added: "It wouldn't be a good idea for Tommy to fight any of the top 10 British Cruiserweights. I think at this moment in time he would struggle to beat any of them including Viddal."

A fourth said: "I think he means that he's doing World Championship level numbers."

Another commented: "Tommy fury said this? He's fighting you tubers and it's them that are pulling the PPV's not you unfortunately. Oh and you couldn't even knock the you tuber out , no disrespect but you are fighting at a low level."

Is Fury at world championship level? Let us know what you think.
