But the event is now in doubt amid reports Wassabi has sustained a concussion in training and is no longer able to fight.
"The @KSI x @AlexWassabi fight that was scheduled for 8/27 is off. Wassabi has a concussion and isn't cleared to fight," tweeted Ariel Helwani.
It was set to be KSI's first fight since he defeated Jake Paul's older brother, Logan Paul, in their rematch in 2019.
Jake Paul was also due to fight this month against Hasim Rahman Jr at Madison Square Garden.

But the event, which was set to take place on Saturday, was cancelled with seven days' notice due to a disagreement over the weight class for the bout.
Paul has now issued a challenge to KSI and says he is willing to travel to the UK to fight him as a late replacement for Wassabi.
"Heard that Alex is out bc of a concussion," tweeted Paul.

"F****d up. This was a big opportunity for Alex. He will be back. KSI… everything happens for a reason. I'll come fight in your hometown. Your boxing company. You are A-Side.
"I also agree to make 180 pounds for August 27. You accept?"
Paul tweeted his challenge to KSI alongside a video in which he mocked the British star.
"If he doesn't accept a fight with me, we all know that he's scared," added Paul.
Only this week, KSI had mocked Paul over the cancellation of his fight against Rahman Jr, who was drafted in as a replacement after original opponent Tommy Fury was prevented from entering the United States.

KSI also offered Paul a spot on the undercard of his fight with Wassabi.
"Clearly your card is dead in the water at this point. So let me give you a lifeline," KSI tweeted.
"If you TRULY want to fight Tommy, fight on my card as the co main event. I've got everything set up for you.
"Best believe you owe me one though. Ball is in your court."
