Tommy Fury called out by boxing fans as old video emerges following Darren Till fight cancellation

Tommy Fury announced his fight with Darren Till is off after the former UFC fighter's threatened to use MMA moves.

Tommy Fury has been called out by boxing fans as previous footage resurfaced after he announced his fight with Darren Till had been postponed.

The pair were set to face one another in a professional bout at the Co-op live arena on 18 January but on Friday morning, Fury took to Instagram and claimed the fight will not be happening.

Fury said the fight was off "for the one simple reason" that Till had gone on record to say he "will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics" if he is losing on scorecards.

Stating he had "wasted weeks in training camp", Fury said he was working on a new fight with a better opponent.

It didn't take Till long to respond and he quickly fired back at Fury with a strongly-worded statement, insisting he only made claims he would use MMA moves in an attempt to promote their fight.

Fury has been widely ridiculed for appearing to pull out of the bout and fans have gone after him after footage was posted showing him practicing elbows, a move synonymous with MMA ahead of his tear-up with KSI.

Fury was branded "hypocritical" given there is a video of him throwing elbow strikes on the heavy bag, though the context is that 'TNT' appeared to be trolling KSI, who had a win changed to a no contest for an accidental elbow on Joe Fournier.

Dad and coach John Fury was heard telling him to use the elbow in the ring, though it appeared to be as a way of defending himself against punches thrown.

In a second post, Till claimed Fury Sr told Misfits Boxing promoters that they were pulling out of the contest due to the threat he made at the chaotic pre-fight press conference.

He also accused Team Fury of "bullying" previous opponents. Till then posted another statement, stressing that he is still main eventing the Misfits card on the same card and is on the hunt for a new opponent to face.

Former world champion Billy Joe Saunders has thrown his name into the hat, stating he will step in if an offer is made.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger said, "No matter what I’ll be there as I have always been".

Taking to X, he wrote: "Just so everyone knows and is clear. Tommy Fury was the A side in this event.

"Which means he was getting more money and he gets to call the shots over me which is rightfully so, He’s the boxer and he’s the bigger name.

"So if this is the case he could not fight me and fight someone else. This is not happening Tommy has pulled out and I’m still main eventing on that date.

"Now I’m the A side and I call the shots. Opponent being found as we speak."

Fury's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over KSI back in October 2023 and he is yet to respond to Till's explosive claims.
