Mike Tyson's reaction to being confronted by man 'he robbed' sums him up ahead of Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson's reaction to being confronted by man 'he robbed' sums him up ahead of Jake Paul fight

Iron Mike saw the funny side when his past caught up with him

Mike Tyson got a blast from the past as the days count down towards his long-awaited return to the ring.

The 58-year-old boxing legend is set to face Jake Paul this Friday night in one of the most hotly anticipated boxing events in recent memory.

The bout had originally been scheduled for July 20 this year, but it had to be rescheduled when Tyson fell ill and was unable to train.

The fight will see Tyson step back into the ring for the first time since he hung up his gloves back in 2005.

And in YouTuber-turned-pugilist Paul, the former world heavyweight champion will be facing off against a man more than three decades his junior.

Renowned as one of the most vicious power punchers in boxing history, Tyson famously has a chequered past.

He spent three years in jail in the early 1990s after being found guilty of rape, and in 1997 he bit off part of opponent Evander Holyfield's ear during a world title fight.

Prior to his boxing career, Tyson endured a difficult upbringing in Brooklyn, New York, leading to him becoming involved in petty crime in his youth.

And one apparent victim of Tyson's sketchy history confronted him recently.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, a fan approached Tyson claiming that the iconic boxer once robbed him.

"You robbed me when I was eight years old," the man said, hugging Tyson and laughing.

"He robbed me when I was a kid, bro. By the Woolwroth's store."

Tyson laughed along and apologised.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"No, don't worry about it, baby," the man replied.

Despite the fact that he is a betting underdog for his upcoming fight against Paul, bookmakers have seen a high frequency of bets placed on Tyson to knock out his younger opponent.

Paul, who has 10 wins from 11 fights largely against other celebrities and MMA fighters, has seven stoppage wins to his name.

Tyson, who won 50 of his 58 professional fights, scored 44 knockouts during his career.
