Mike Tyson posts new training footage 50 days out from Jake Paul fight and it's left fans stunned

Mike Tyson posts new training footage 50 days out from Jake Paul fight and it's left fans stunned

Tyson is ramping up his preparations ahead of his fight against Paul.

Mike Tyson has released new training footage ahead of his fight with Jake Paul and it's got boxing fans talking on social media.

Former heavyweight champion Tyson was originally due to face Paul on July 20, but the bout was rescheduled for November 15 after Tyson suffered an ulcer flair-up.

The idea of a 58-year-old man fighting a 27-year-old has divided the boxing community, but Tyson told Esquire: "I don't think he [Paul] can hurt me."

Paul boasts a professional boxing record of 10-1, with his only loss coming at the hands of Tommy Fury in February 2023.

Since that setback, Paul has beaten notable combat sports names including Nate Diaz and, most recently, Mike Perry. If the fight goes ahead, Tyson will be the biggest name on Paul’s record by a long way.

On Friday morning, Tyson uploaded training footage of him smashing pads and looking in great condition, captioning the post: "Final stretch. Less than 50 days left."

Fans were quick to give their thoughts, with one commenting on X: “No matter what, Mike is so impressive doing this at his age."

Another added: “IMAGINE if the old Mike comes to the ring. That’d be some spectacle!"

While a third commented: “Jake Paul will unfortunately beat the great Mike Tyson.”

A fourth simply said: "Holy s***."

Despite Tyson's legendary status, Paul is confident of continuing his winning streak.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "I mean, it's just being alert and knowing what to do in that situation."

Paul is clearly unfazed by both Tyson and the media attention coming his way and has shocked many with his commitment to the sport since turning pro.

And the YouTuber-turned-boxer believes he can predict Tyson's approach to the fight.

"I could definitely see him trying to [go for an early KO], but he'll find out very quickly that I also have a ton of power," he added.

"So doing that with a guy like me isn't always the smartest thing to do, because I'll catch one of his shots then counter."

At a recent press conference, Paul criticised Tyson for requesting the bout be fought under two-minute rounds.

“It's interesting, I'm just, I'm just basing s*** off of facts. He's like, ‘Watch your shape, watch your shape.’ I'm like, ‘Alright, but you watch it'," said Paul.

“It could be to his advantage. I think it's also smart that he's doing that. I'm fighting on all of his rules and what he wanted.

“He wanted it to be a pro-fight. He wanted eight, two-minute rounds. So I'm giving him everything he wants. I'm going to his playground, and I'm going to beat his a**.”
