The reaction of the general public to Mike Tyson's defeat against Jake Paul is "mind-blowing", according to a nurse, who has discussed the result of Friday night's bout.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul recorded a comfortable unanimous decision victory over Tyson at the 80,000-capacity AT&T Stadium, Texas.
All three judges scored the eight-round heavyweight contest in Paul's favour, with the 27-year-old winning 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 on their scorecards.

In total, Tyson landed 18 punches across the 16-minute contest, while Paul connected with 78.
The event on streaming service Netflix has been met with widespread criticism.
Many argued that Tyson, who claims to have "almost died" in June following eight blood transfusions, should not have cleared to fight. Others were surprised that a two-time heavyweight champion struggled against the far-less-experienced Paul.

A self-proclaimed 'nurse' took to Reddit on Monday to express their surprise at the post-fight reaction.
"The general public’s reaction to the Tyson fight result is mind blowing as a nurse," the post read.
"Seeing just how surprised people were that a 58-year-old man (with a pmh of sciatica and a bleeding ulcer requiring PRBC in the summer) lost to a healthy 27-year-old threw me for a loop as a nurse and made me wonder how the general public really views aging and how it affects the body.
"Yes I know it's Mike Tyson and he's arguably the goat, but I'd still mark him as a standby assist patient and I definitely wouldn't have been betting money on him winning. Perhaps the "meemaw is a fighter" logic is more prevalent than I feared."

As mentioned earlier, Tyson gave an insight into his condition after the fight.
"This is one of those situations when you lost but still won," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.
"I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won."

He added: "To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you."
