Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson 'rematch clause' situation made clear days before mega-fight

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson 'rematch clause' situation made clear days before mega-fight

Another major detail of the fight has been confirmed.

Jake Paul has exclusively revealed if his upcoming boxing fight with heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will have a rematch clause.

On Friday, controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul will return to the ring in a highly-anticipated bout against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

The fight was initially scheduled to take place on July 20 but was postponed after the 58-year-old boxer was forced to stop training due to an ulcer flare up.

And ahead of the bout, Paul told SPORTbible if the contract for his clash with Tyson includes a rematch clause.

"There is no rematch clause," Paul exclusively told SPORTbible in May.

While it was never triggered, there was a rematch clause included in Paul's contract for his bout with Tommy Fury, which Fury won by split decision.

And while there was no rematch clause included in his first fight with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, the two have faced each other on two occasions, leaving the door open for Paul v Tyson 2.

But for Paul v Tyson, the only way that we are likely to see a second fight would be if the fight is so competitive that fans demand that the two fight again in a rematch.

Although, Should he get the win over his most notorious opponent yet, Paul is looking to move on to further pursue his main goal in the sport.

In another exclusive interview with SPORTbible, the 27-year-old revealed that he still plans on claiming a championship belt in boxing, and detailed what he believes he would need to do for that to happen.

Paul explained: "To win a world championship belt, i would have to be at like 65% of my capabilities. A win on Friday night just will further my influence in the boxing world. What I want is Canelo for the cruiserweight championship belt. That to me would the ultimate fight.

When asked what percentage of his capabilities he currently believes he is at, Paul replied: "Roughly 40-50% of what i can accomplish. In 3 years, i’ll be 100%.

"People really don’t know how good I am. My power, my jab and my speed. I didn’t realise how fast and strong I am. I was gifted by god with hard punches."

Paul vs. Tyson will be available to stream live globally on all Netflix plans, at no additional cost to subscribers.
