The fallout from Justin Langer's departure as Australian head cricket coach continues to have rippling effects.
According to Fox Cricket, team manager Gavin Dovey has resigned with his close relationship with Langer believed to be a contributing factor in his decision.
Despite living remotely in London, Dovey regularly linked up with Langer and the Australian team and was involved in the reportedly heated exchange with a CA staffer after the Bangladesh tour, when the Bangladeshi team song was posted to CA's official channels.
He has a mixed reputation among players, though he and Langer were understood to have had a close working relationship.
Dovey served as team manager under three separate coaches, dating back to Mickey Arthur's tenure which began in 2010.
Under Arthur, his role extended to helping to determine key cultural matters before his role was scaled back following Arthur's sacking and the appointment of Darren Lehmann, focusing more on the same logistics for the national side that his predecessor Steve Bernard focused on.
Cricket Australia has come under significant fire since its decision to only offer Langer a short extension as head coach caused the former opener to stand down immediately following the successful Ashes test series.
Widely known for his steadfast ways, Langer's intensity and volatile micromanagement style became too much for many players to handle and while it's believed he had reeled back his aggressive style in recent times, the unrest within the playing group saw Cricket Australia only offering him an extension until the completion of the T20 World Cup later this year.
Langer took over the role as head coach in the wake of the infamous ball-tampering scandal, which saw the then captain Steve Smith sacked for a year and forced Smith and teammates David Warner and Cameron Bancroft to offer public apologies.
Dovey's resignation is just another in a line of off-field dramas for Cricket Australia in the last six months following the sexting scandal involving former skipper Tim Paine and the resignation of Langer, who leaves despite winning the T20 World Cup and a 4-0 Ashes Test Series win during his tenure.
