Usain Bolt didn't hesitate when asked if Tyreek Hill could beat him in a race

Usain Bolt didn't hesitate when asked if Tyreek Hill could beat him in a race

He didn't stutter.

Usain Bolt had absolutely no doubt when asked who would win in a race between himself and NFL star Tyreek Hill.

The potential race between the pair has been a major talking point on social media ever since Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson discussed the topic on the daily Nightcap show.

Hill even being put in the same breath clearly bothered the nine-time Olympic gold medalist, as he quickly responded on X: "Not even in a next universe."

The American football star likely jumped out of his seat after hearing someone of Bolt's caliber come for him so he sparked the beef with a brutal response.

"You're all talk old guy, I'll come to Jamaica to whoop you if I got to," Hill posted.

30-year-old Hill is widely regarded as the fastest NFL player ever, clocking in a 4.29-second 40-yard dash, while Bolt is widely regarded as the fastest man EVER with 9.58 in the 100m.

With the media beginning to catch on to the online feud, Bolt was questioned whether the race would be a possibility in an interview with TMZ.

"I told him man if he's really serious we can figure it out because first time I met him, he was always talking you know he just kept talking so it would be good to put it to bed," he explained.

Despite vastly different sprinting credentials, the former Olympic champion stressed he would not take the race lightly.

"He's in shape, I mean I work out too but I would need to step up my training so it would all depend on my schedule if you know what I mean," he revealed.

"I've been retired for a while so I need to get my legs going again, I mean I've still got speed of course but I would have to get it going."

The pair have also spoken about the prospect of putting an Olympic gold and Super Bowl ring on the line to up the stakes, but Bolt isn't convinced Hill is game.

"I don't think he would, he's only got one [Super Bowl ring] so he's probably scared haha," he joked.

Bolt was also pushed to give his verdict on how he thinks the proposed race (over 70 yards) would go.

"I still think I'd get him at 40 [yards] but I mean to be safe you've always got to be extra safe you know what I mean but I do still think I get him at 40," he predicted.

"I may be slow out of the blocks but I get up to top speed real quick."
