A 3D simulation has shown what would happen if Cristiano Ronaldo and Usain Bolt competed in a race at their peak recorded speeds.
Bolt is the fastest competitive sprinter to ever live, holding world records in the 100 metres and 200 metres.
His 100 metre record, set at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, has never come close to being beaten, and he is an eight-time Olympic gold medalist.

All of those medals were won at the Beijing, London and Rio de Janeiro Olympics between 2008 and 2016, with Bolt retiring from athletics in 2017.
The Jamaican holds the three fastest-ever times over 100 metres, which increases to four when times are adjusted by wind.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, was one of the fastest sprinters in football in his peak years, hitting approximately 33.9km/h, though still recorded a stunning top speed of 32.7km/h at the age of 39 during Euro 2024 - the fastest speed he has registered at a European Championship since UEFA started recording player speeds in 2012.

YouTube user Vividat has completed a simulated comparison of Ronaldo and Bolt both running the 100 metre. And an ostrich is involved too for good measure.
Unsurprisingly, the ostrich easily went on to win the race, recording a time of 7.3 seconds ahead of Bolt.
The Jamaican clocked in at a time of 9.53 - five seconds than the fastest time he achieved during his legendary career.
As for Ronaldo, he ran 11.22 seconds - still an incredibly impressive time - as he crossed the finish line.
Scientists have seen ostriches run continuously at speeds of 30-37mph, and sprint up to 43mph.

In one race, Bolt was clocked at 27.8mph when he set his 100m world record in Berlin, which is the fastest recorded human footspeed between 60 and 80 metres of all time.
