Coming off a stellar 2021/22 campaign in Serie A, Lucas Torreira has been offered to Lazio after a permanent move to Fiorentina failed to materialise.
According to Daily Cannon, Torreira has been offered to Lazio after his preferred move to Fiorentina failed to materialise. Torreira was sent to the Serie A side who had an option to make the move permanent for a fee of €15M which they declined to exercise. Fiorentina claimed the fee was out of their budget and offered a €7M instead, but the Gunners are said to have baulked at this offer and declined to even respond.
Lucas Torreira was loaned to Fiorentina for the 2021/22 to try and revitalise a career that seemed to be dwindling away. The Uruguayan had made an impact on his arrival at the Emirates but had fallen down the pecking order and out of rotation.

The move to Fiorentina proved very fruitful as Torreira began displaying the bullish traits that earned him a move to North London and his impact on the team and fans was felt immediately.
Torreira shone in the latter half of the year picking up 3 player of the month awards in the final months of the season. His tenacity and passion were on display for all to see and this level of application endeared him to the Fiorentina faithful.
With one year left on his contract, he has made it abundantly clear that he would like to return to the Gigliati but with a new offer unlikely to be on the horizon it’s more likely he will be suiting up for a different club next season.
