Reports coming out of Italy suggest that Arsenal are growing increasingly frustrated with Fiorentina over Lucas Torreira, reports Football London.
Since signing the Uruguayan international for £26 million back in 2018, the Gunners have seen the constant depreciation of their asset.
Torreira’s Arsenal career started brightly, with regular man-of-the-match awards, and pundits and fans alike praising the combative midfielder as providing a much needed bite to a Gunners’ side sorely lacking such aggression.

However, a combination of falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta and failing to adapt to the English lifestyle left the former Sampdoria man seeking a way out. A failed loan move to Atletico Madrid was followed by a far more successful loan to the picturesque landscape of Florence.
Despite the successes of his loan spell, the Italian side are refusing to meet the demands the Gunners have made for their 26-year-old. The widely understood agreement was that La Viola would exercise the optional purchase clause in the deal (a fee around £13m, half of what Arsenal paid for the Uruguayan).
Instead, the negotiations have been a succession of lowball offers from Fiorentina, with the club offering half of that, a mere £6 million for the Gunners man. Torreira himself has made his intentions clear, he wishes to return to Florence:
“My idea is to stay at Fiorentina, but if [a move] doesn’t happen, I’ll search for a club where I can play regularly,”

If Torreira’s desires are to be fulfilled, then the side he spent the last season at will need to start co-operating with his parent club. Relations between the two clubs are said to be fractured after the Dusan Vlahovic saga, so any deal seems unlikely at this stage, unless the team from Northern Italy adhere to Arsenal’s demands.
