Arsenal are poised to accelerate talks for Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have been fiercely linked with the Manchester City forward throughout the window thus far, but are yet to make firm steps towards acquiring the services of the 25-year-old.
However, that is all set to change according to reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who believes the coming hours are set to influence the course of proceedings significantly:

“Gabriel Jesus is still the main target of Arsenal. In the next few hours, there will be new contact to understand if they can reach an agreement or move to other targets. It’s not surprising to see him take his time over a decision on his future.”
That would suggest that it isn’t through a want of trying that a deal for Manchester City forward hasn't be struck, as it takes two to tango, and Jesus’ is mulling over what footballing avenue is best for him to walk down at this stage in his career, with the next move taking him into his prime years.
With the arrival of Erling Haaland at the Etihad, the Brazilian’s departure is an inevitability, so much so that The Citizens are yet to announce their Norwegian powerhouses shirt number yet - presumably waiting for Jesus’ departure to give their new star the no.9.
Arteta knows the Brazilian well, and is seemingly hellbent on bringing the forward to the club, to bolster a forward line that is severely understaffed. Jesus’ output with limited minutes last season was impressive, notching 25 g/a in all competitions last season, despite frequently being rotated.

The coming hours and weeks are crucial for this deal, and the Gunners faithful will be hoping that the senior officials at the Emirates are able to drive this deal over the line, allowing their side to head into the Premier League curtain raiser against Crystal Palace ready for war.
