Benfica striker and possible Arsenal target Darwin Nunez has reportedly met with several Premier League clubs ahead of a potential move to England this summer.
Nunez is amongst a number of strikers Arsenal are targeting to bolster their attack this summer.
Following the departure of captain Alex Lacazette, Arsenal are looking for a striker who can lead their push for Champions League this season.

Although Eddie Nketiah impressed towards the end of the season, meaning he likely will be rewarded with a new long-term contract, Arsenal need at least one more forward to cover his workload. The number of Europa League games makes this even more important.
Arsenal are reportedly targeting several strikers this summer, with Gabriel Jesus as the main target, but others include Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Roma’s Tammy Abraham and even a possible surprise move for Argentine forward Giovanni Simeone.
During his season with Benfica, Darwin Nunez has impressed, netting 26 goals in 28 matches in the Primera Liga. This goal scoring record has made him the object of desire for many Premier League clubs.

For Arsenal, someone with a finishing record as strong as Nunez’s is an attractive prospect, particularly with Eddie Nketiah being the only striker in the squad with a Premier League goal.
However they face stiff competition for his signature.
Football Transfers report that Manchester United and Liverpool are keen on the player and that representatives from Tottenham Hotspur have met with the player’s agent. Reportedly, they are keen on securing a backup for talismanic striker Harry Kane.
Newcastle are also interested in the player but may struggle to attract him with the prospect of money alone.

For Arsenal it appears this would be a tough deal to pull off given their lack of Champions League football. Prying Nunez away would also require a significant outlay which the gunners may be unwilling to part with, favouring a cheaper deal for Gabriel Jesus instead.
