“Now it’s about putting that on a piece of paper.
“I would like that to get done because I don’t want players to be distracted in the season.
"But these things take time.”
Arteta sounded assured over the possibility of Saka signing a new contract at the Emirates, and the winger himself has doubled down on his manager's confidence.
Speaking to media after the Fulham match, Saka said:

Saka's comments will be greatly received by Arsenal fans, who are desperate to see the youngster commit his future to the Gunners.
Saka rose through the Hale End academy, joining at the age of 7 and eventually making his competitive debut in 2018.
In 2019 he broke into the first team, scoring his first goal against Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Amid injury troubles for the Arsenal squad, Saka came into the Premier League team playing as a left-back.

Eventually under Mikel Arteta, he began to play on the right-wing and hasn't looked back since.
For the last two seasons, Saka has won the Arsenal player of the season award. Last season enjoying his best season so far, scoring 11 goals and registering seven assists in the Premier League.
The winger has also broken into the England first squad, becoming a key member and playing a big part in England's run to the Euro 2020 final.
