Arsenal take on 1. FC Nurnberg later today in their first official pre-season friendly, here's what we can expect.

Arsenal take on 1. FC Nurnberg today as they begin their preparations for the new season.

Mikel Arteta's side did beat Ipswich Town behind closed doors, but today's game is expected to have more senior players involved.

The 2.Bundesliga team mark the official start of Arsenal's pre-season tour, flying to Germany for this game.

Then on the 17th July, the Gunners take to America to play a series of games, starting with Everton.

On the 21st July they take on Orlando City, before playing Chelsea on the 24th July.

Then it's back to North London for the annual Emirates Cup, this year against Sevilla.

Before finally on the 5th August, the Premier League returns as Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace.


Who will be involved today?

Arsenal fans can expect to see a number of their new signings in action today.

Gabriel Jesus, Matt Turner and Marquinhos are all expected to be involved after making the trip to Germany.

Fabio Vieira has also travelled, but is recovering from an injury.

It is not clear if he will be involved or not.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Martinelli have also returned, as well as players such as Kieran Tierney, Sambi Lokonga, Cedric, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Rob Holding, who should all be involved.

Players heavily involved in international duty such as Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Aaron Ramsdale and Martin Odegaard, are expected to link up with the squad next week.


Players back from loan should also be involved such as Hector Bellerin, Pablo Mari and Folarin Balogun.

Youngsters such as Charlie Patino, Matt Smith and Lino Sousa may also have chances to play.

When and where can we watch the game?

The game kicks off at 16:30 (4:30pm) BST today.

Nurnberg will host the friendly at their 50,000 seater Max-Morlock-Stadion in Nuremberg, Germany.

Arsenal are streaming the game on their website for £5.99 for UK viewers.

With the first chance of the summer to see Mikel Arteta's squad in action, Arsenal fans will surely be extremely excited for this one.
