Chelsea are prioritising alternative targets to Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana this summer, according to reports.
The Blues have already lost Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger this summer, with the pair departing on free transfers.
Rudiger has been officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player, while it remains unknown as to Christensen’s next club.

The Dane has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but the Spanish giants are looking to resolve their financial situation.
Therefore, Thomas Tuchel’s men will be looking to dip into the market for replacements this summer.
However, Leicester City defender Fofana will not be the main target this summer.
Tuchel’s men were previously linked with a move for the defender, believed to be challenging Manchester United for his signature.
Fofana penned a two-year contract extension at the club back in May, meaning that if anyone was to target him they would need to pay a huge fee to convince the Foxes to sell.

At the time, he said: “I’m really happy to sign a new contract. It shows the Club have confidence in me offering me a contract to 2027. I’m really happy to be here. It’s my Club, I love the fans, so I’m really happy and really looking forward to being back playing.
“I love everything about the Club. I love the city, I love the fans. It’s a family which is what I love the most. Everyone is close and gets on well. We also have a great team and are continuing to progress, with a desire to win more trophies. That’s why I have committed my future to the Club until 2027. I want to achieve more with the Club. There is a lot of talent here and still a lot more we can do together.”
Now it has been revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs that both Chelsea and Man United are prioritising other targets.

When outlining the reason for targeting other defenders, he wrote: “This is partly because they both know how difficult it will be to persuade Leicester to sell right now at anything other than an astronomical price.”
Therefore the Blues are looking elsewhere for defensive reinforcements this summer.
The latest name to be linked is that of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, with the Turin-based club looking for a huge fee plus Timo Werner in a deal for their star player.
Jules Kounde has also been heavily linked but it looks more likely that the French international will sign for Barcelona this summer, once they sort out their financial situation.

Fofana could be one to keep an eye on in the future, with Thiago Silva ageing and the Blues potentially looking to replace the Brazilian in future transfer windows, once the price is more affordable.
