Chelsea made a player-plus-cash offer for Everton striker Richarlison late on as he looks set to secure a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports.
It was revealed that Chelsea made a late attempt to hijack Spurs’ deal for the Brazilian, entering talks with Everton on Thursday morning.
This comes after Chelsea have been heavily rumoured to be set to sign Leeds United’s winger Raphinha.

The Leeds star was said to be considering personal terms from the Blues after Leeds United accepted a £55 million offer from Chelsea.
However, it appears that the 25-year-old would prefer a move to Barcelona this summer.
The Catalan club are ‘very alive’ in the race to sign Raphinha, handing Chelsea a blow.

Deco, Raphinha’s agent, has been spotted in the offices in Barcelona with it unclear as to his intentions.
With Tottenham paying as much as £60 million to sign Richarlison, as it appears Chelsea faltered in their attempts of a hijack, the Blues may have to look elsewhere.
Raheem Sterling is thought to be close to signing for Thomas Tuchel’s side, with another attacker also targetted.
The details of Chelsea’s bid for Richarlison have now been revealed.
It appears that the Blues submitted a unique offer for the Brazilian to Everton.

As reported by Jacob Steinberg, the late offer made by Chelsea to Everton for Richarlison was a player-plus-cash deal.
It remains unclear as to who was involved in the negotiations, with Everton having been linked to Chelsea players in the past.
Midfield duo Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour were of interest to former Blues boss and current Toffee head coach Frank Lampard.
However, Tuchel previously revealed that he expects the pair back for pre-season training as he said: “They come back for a point.

“We have pre-season with them for them to show they can play the role we wish for.
“They are our players. Whoever takes the place needs to do anything to keep the place."
The Telegraph continued to reveal that the Blues decided against matching the deal offered by Spurs for Richarlison after being quoted £60 million.

It is unclear as to what this means for the Raphinha deal, with it previously reported that Chelsea would press on with interest in Raphinha, Richarlison and Raheem Sterling.
It was stated that it was unlikely that Tuchel’s side would sign all three, but with confidence in a move over Sterling and a fee agreed with Leeds for Raphinha, the Blues also went in for Richarlison.
With a meeting set between Chelsea and Deco, Todd Boehly must now do all in his power to convince the Brazilian to move to Stamford Bridge after failing to agree a deal for Richarlison.
