Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a potential loan move after being ‘surprised’ by his exclusion for their first game of the Premier League season.
The winger was not named in Chelsea’s squad to face Everton on the opening day, a surprise as Timo Werner also missed out, leaving a space on the bench for an attacker.
With Tuchel not trusting the youngster in the matchday squad, it was reported that he could be set for a loan move this summer.

Southampton are said to have already opened talks over a move for the winger, while Leicester City have also shown interest.
A move to the Foxes could benefit Chelsea, who hold strong interest in Leicester defender Wesley Fofana.
The Blues have already seen two bids rejected for the Frenchman, with Tuchel’s side prepared to offer up to £85 million to secure the signing of the 21-year-old this summer if reports are to be believed.

However, there is much competition for the Chelsea youngster as Borussia Dortmund have reignited their interest.
As reported by Darmseh Sheth from Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi is now in talks with the Bundesliga club.
However, his representatives will talk to all the interested parties before making a final decision on where he will join on loan.
A loan move to Borussia Dortmund was first rumoured last summer, with the German club keen to take him for the 2021/22 season after they sold Jadon Sancho to Manchester United.
Despite this, late in the transfer window Tuchel blocked a move for Hudson-Odoi as he believed that the player was key to his plans for the season due to his versatility.

Hudson-Odoi often played at wing-back but shone on the left of a front three as Chelsea sat top of the league towards the beginning of the season.
However, injuries saw his game time limited towards the end of the campaign and it appears that a loan move may now be the way forward for the player as he assesses his options towards the end of the transfer window.
As reported by Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian, Hudson-Odoi was surprised by his exclusion from Chelsea’s squad to face Everton and is now considering his options, with a loan move the preference for all parties.

He was not carrying an injury and has worked hard over the summer to return to Chelsea fit following last season, with a move to Borussia Dortmund on the cards.
Leicester City and Southampton remain interested in Hudson-Odoi but a move to the Bundesliga could prove to be an attrractive option.
Hudson-Odoi could join up with Jude Bellingham in Dortmund and follow in the path of Sancho if he chooses to sign for the Germans.
