Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has dropped a major transfer hint regarding the Blues’ move for defensive reinforcements this summer.
With both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christesnen having departed the club on free transfers, the Blues are in dire need of replacements.
Several names have been linked over the course of the summer, with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt and Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpember said to be of interest.

However, the two most likely signings at the back appear to be that of Manchester City’s Nathan Ake and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Blues have reportedly agreed personal terms with Ake regarding a return to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The defender is a natural for the left-side of a back three and can also play in midfield and at wing-back, making him an ideal option for Thomas Tuchel this summer.

Manchester City are awaiting a bid from the Blues as they prepare to find a replacement for their defender.
Koulibaly has also been heavily linked, with the 31-year-old confirming that a move to Chelsea was ‘on the right track’.
As quoted by Romain Collet-Gaudin, Koulibaly admitted: "I'll confirm that later, but it's on the right track.”
And now, Koulibaly’s Senegal teammate and Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy has dropped a transfer hint regarding defensive reinforcements this summer.
As revealed by Tom Roddy, when Mendy was asked about the search for defenders this summer, he hinted about the arrivals.

Speaking to The Times on Tuesday, he said: “We were happy with Toni, with Christensen, but I think we are more than happy with the defenders who will arrive for us.”
It looks like the shot-stopper knows who will be playing in front of him next season, with speculation regarding a move for Koulibaly stepping up in recent days.
Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani has met with Chelsea over a potential transfer this summer as he has one year left on his deal in Italy.

It looks increasingly likely that the 31-year-old will be brought in by Tuchel as he looks to rebuild his defence ahead of the new season.
The Senegal international will join Raheem Sterling if he signs from Napoli this summer after the winger completed his medical.
Sterling is travelling to the United States to join his new Chelsea teammates in pre-season training.
It remains to be seen as to who else will follow the pair to Stamford Bridge once they arrive as Chelsea will hope to challenge on all fronts once again.
