Cristiano Ronaldo is willing to take a ‘considerable pay cut’ in order to leave Manchester United amid interest from Chelsea this summer, according to reports.
The 37-year-old is reportedly being considered by Thomas Tuchel’s side this summer.
Manchester United may be unwilling to sell to a divisional rival, however, as Chelsea look to replace Romelu Lukaku in the transfer window.

The Belgian completed a return to Inter Milan, on an initial loan deal for the 2022/23 season.
The Blues had previously been offered the chance to sign Ronaldo when Todd Boehly met with super agent Jorge Mendes to discuss transfers this summer.
While it was previously stated that Boehly attended the meeting out of courtesy, it appears that his side are now considering a move for Ronaldo.

Boehly and fellow director Behdad Eghbali are said to be intrigued by the possibility of bringing the star to Chelsea due to his status in the game.
And now, Ronaldo’s stance has been revealed as Miguel Delaney of The Independent states that the Portugal star could be willing to take a pay cut.
The report writes that Ronaldo is willing to take a ‘considerable pay cut’ in order to join a Champions League challenger.

His desire is to try and win the competition, one in which Chelsea lifted in 2021, once more, or at least a major domestic title.
This comes as the primary motivation for Ronaldo’s future as he is prepared to leave Manchester, with United currently not participating in the Champions League.
The report continues to state that his contract sees Ronaldo on over £500,000-a-week as other sources state it could even be over £700,000-a-week.
Ronaldo would be willing to significantly lower his demands as he looks to move to a club who can challenge at the top.

His preferred options include Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain as he looks to make the move this summer.
It remains to be seen as to whether Tuchel would be keen to bring Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge, having just offloaded club-record signing Lukaku following a disappointing season.
The German will have the final say in the transfer window following Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech’s departure from the club.

If the head coach decides he would like to sign Ronaldo this summer, it remains to be seen as to how a deal could be struck with Manchester United, who are unwilling to sell to a domestic rival as they seek Champions League football.
