Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard would be willing to join Chelsea this summer, according to reports in Germany.
The Blues are in the market for defensive reinforcements after both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departed the club on free transfers during the summer.
Kalidou Koulibaly arrived earlier in the transfer window to help soften the blow but Thomas Tuchel’s side have been unsuccessful in bringing more defenders to the club.

Jules Kounde has been announced as a new Barcelona player after Chelsea didn’t submit an official proposal for the 23-year-old, while it looks like Presnel Kimpembe will remain a Paris Saint-Germain player this summer.
Wesley Fofana of Leicester City is the latest name to be linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, but the Foxes’ high valuation could see the defender priced out of a deal.
Pavard has been linked with a move following Matthijs de Ligt, a previous Chelsea target, arriving at Bayern Munich.

The German giants have an excess in defence and could look to move Pavard on if a bid is made.
It is unclear as to whether Tuchel would look to bring the French international to the club or whether he would have agreed to join.
However, the player’s stance has now been revealed by German insider Christian Falk.

Chelsea could look to make a bid for the defender before they face Everton on the first match of the Premier League season but it remains to be seen as to the level of interest from the Blues.
Tuchel’s side will no doubt look to make defensive additions before the end of the transfer window, with the German previously discussing the need for reinforcements at the back.

Speaking following Chelsea’s 4-0 loss to Arsenal, the German said: “Listen, it's the same players, so why should anything change?
“We will see, hopefully, development but at the moment, we have the same issues because we have the same players.
"We got sanctioned and players left us, we know that some players are trying to leave us, and this is where it is.
The latest reports have stated that Chelsea are ‘scrambling’ for targets at the back, with the season fast approaching.

It remains to be seen as to who could come in before the end of the transfer window as Tuchel will be hopeful of making at least one addition to his side.
