Thomas Tuchel rejected talks with Barcelona and Manchester United before eventually being dismissed by Chelsea, it has been revealed.
The 49-year-old was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday morning following Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
However, a statement released by the club revealed that this was not the sole reason for his dismissal, with a review carried out on the 100th day of the new Chelsea ownership.

It wrote: "Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.
"On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.
"As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition."

Graham Potter has since been announced as the new head coach of the club, joining from Brighton and Hove Albion on a five-year deal.
Tuchel showed enormous loyalty during his time in charge of the Blues, but was dismissed by the new ownership despite remaining focused and guiding his team to a top three finish in the Premier League despite the uncertainties.
His loyalty stretched further, however, as it has now been revealed that he rejected approaches from two of Europe's elite clubs to stay at Chelsea.

As reported by Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Tuchel turned down the opportunity to speak to Barcelona and Manchester United last season.
Barcelona wanted Tuchel in November before appointing Xavi Hernandez, while Man United were looking to see the German succeed Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford.
This news will no doubt solidify his status as a Chelsea legend, having lifted the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time in London.

Tuchel is thought to now wish to take some time away from football before searching for a new adventure.
Chelsea will turn their focus to building a long-term working relationship with Potter after his arrival.
His first match will likely be against Fulham on Saturday if the game goes ahead following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Then, Potter's side face FC Salzburg in Champions League action, looking to get their first points of the 2022/23 campaign.

Tuchel will no doubt be back in football sooner rather than later as he leaves Chelsea with an impressive reputation.
