Chelsea have released a statement regarding an alleged case of racial abuse during the Blues’ clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The match ended 2-2 under controversial circumstances, with Thomas Tuchel and his players admitting that they believed both Spurs goals should not have stood.
Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James scored for the Blues, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane netting for the visitors.

Hojbjerg’s effort was low into the back of the net but the attack occured after Chelsea were furious that a foul on Kai Havertz was not awarded.
Furthermore, Richarlison appeared to be standing in an offside position infront of Edouard Mendy as the ball went in.
Off-the-pitch, the match is one not to remember as pictures were released of a Chelsea fan, who appeared to be hurling racist abuse at Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min.

Chelsea have now released a statement regarding the incident.
“Chelsea Football Club finds any form of discriminatory behaviour totally abhorren,” the statement began.
“Chelsea FC has consistently made its zero tolerance position on discriminatory behaviour very clear, yet there are still idiots like this that attach themselves to this club as so-called ‘fans’, which shames Chelsea FC, our coaches, players, staff and our true supporters.
“We are investigating this incident and, if identified, this individual will face the strongest action from the club.”
The club will provide further updates once their investigation is underway, with the Blues’ strong statement showing the zero tolerance policy to racial abuse of any form in and around the stadium and among the fanbase.

It remains to be seen as to what action will be taken if the evidence is substantial.
Chelsea travel north to face Leeds United in their next match in Premier League action after the draw against Antonio Conte’s men.
The Blues will be without head coach Tuchel, who was dismissed after the final whistle due to an altercation with Spurs’ manager.

He should return to the sidelines in Chelsea’s next home match as they face Leicester City next week, with Tuchel hoping that his side can get a victory on the road without him.
They have been without their head coach before as Arno Michels and Zsolt Low took the team for the first match of the Club World Cup earlier this year.
Therefore, Chelsea can go into the match with some confidence of victory under his backroom staff in Leeds.
