Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has left the club by mutual consent, it has been confirmed.
The 28-year-old was not handed a squad number for the 2022/23 season and has not made an appearance in the matchday squad for the Blues.
It was previously reported that the England midfielder was set to leave the club.

The midfielder struggled for game time last season, making just 14 appearances in all competition, with six coming in the Premier League.
It was believed that Barkley would ask for a 'huge pay-off' in order to see his contract terminated, despite only having a deal that lasts for another year and worth £200,000-a-week.
However, it has now been confirmed that the midfielder has left the club by mutual consent.

In a statement released by Chelsea, they revealed: "Ross Barkley has left Chelsea by mutual consent and becomes a free agent."
Barkley netted 12 goals in over 100 appearances since joining from Everton back in 2018 and was part of the Chelsea squad that lifted the Europa League.

He scored the winner in his final game for the Blues, a 2-1 victory over Watford at the end of last season.
However, with the emergence of Conor Gallagher and Chelsea looking to add further forwards, Barkley has become surplus to requirements.
Chelsea are looking to add the likes of Anthony Gordon and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to their squad.
Crystal Palace's Wilfriend Zaha has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent days.

The Blues were keen to offload players that were not part of Thomas Tuchel's plans this season.
Barkleyt is the latest to see his departure, with Emerson Palmieri leaving the club last week.
It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for Barkley, who will no doubt be snapped up as a free agent.
Burnley have previously been linked with his signature, while Everton and West Ham have also held reported interest.

Barkley is not limited to join a club by Thursday's transfer deadline, as he is now a free agent and can move at any time.
