Should Barcelona’s negotiations fail, Chelsea could enter the race for Robert Lewandowski despite Thomas Tuchel transfer stance, according to reports.
Both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing up a move for Lewandowski due to Barcelona’s negotiations stuttering with the Polish striker.
The Blues lost the services of Romelu Lukaku this summer, who returned on loan to Inter Milan following a disappointing year at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja is also attracting heavy interest from Premier League clubs with West Ham United looking to be leading the race. They are expected to ramp up talks this week.
Should the west London side lose Broja, it would leave their only realistic options at the centre-forward spot as either Kai Havertz or Timo Werner, which may prompt them to make a move for Lewandowski.
The 33-year-old is coming off the back of another fantastic season in Germany with Bayern Munich, he tallied up 50 goals and provided seven assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

He arrived from Borussia Dortmund back in 2014, and since he joined Bayern he has registered a total of 344 goals and 72 assists in just 374 matches.
Barcelona have been the side leading the race for the goal-scoring machine all summer with Lewandowski keen to move to the Catalan club as well.
Club president, John Laporta has even thanked Lewandowski for how much effort he is putting in to try and get a deal done to secure his place at the Camp Nou.
Laporta stated: "You know that we have made an offer for Lewandowski and we're waiting on Bayern's response. I want to thank the player for the effort he's made to come.

“They're evaluating the offer and we're waiting for the response."
So while both club and player want the move to get done, Bayern have concerns regarding the money.
They wish to receive the €50 million fee up front for Lewandowski due to Barcelona’s financial problems.

Should this issue cause the transfer to fall through, it could leave the door open to Chelsea and PSG with the sides ready to pounce.
Chelsea are in the race to get his signature, but as reported by The Independent Thomas Tuchel does not see signing a number nine as a priority.
This comes as a surprise given the lack of depth Chelsea have up top but they are still ‘prepared to act’ should the right deal become available.

Ben Jacobs adds that the Poland international would only consider the Blues if a move to Barcelona falls through.
The Blues have also been ‘offered the chance’ to sign Cristiano Ronaldo but head coach Tuchel is said to be feeling ‘lukewarm’ towards the idea of acquiring Manchester United’s number seven.
