Moises Caicedo was sad when Graham Potter left Brighton to take the Chelsea head coach job, but has admitted it would be a dream to join him at Stamford Bridge.
The 47-year-old was approached by Chelsea last week and within 24 hours agreed to become Thomas Tuchel’s successor in west London.
Potter didn’t get off to a winning start as he would have hoped for, drawing 1-1 to FC Salzburg in the Champions League, leaving Chelsea bottom of Group E.

He is happy with his new squad and looking forward to working with the group over the coming weeks and months as Chelsea embark on a new long-term vision under Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital and Co.
Potter said on Wednesday night: "I've been very positive with the players, their response, attitude, intelligence. They are top players and are working hard for each other. There is a nice spirit in the group, but they are disappointed because results haven't gone as well as they'd like, which is normal, and you can feel that disappointment and frustration.
"But it's my job to help them get the results they want, that we all want. Today is not the best start in terms of points for us but in terms of how we acted on the pitch as a group, lots of positives."
Potter’s former players have shared their gratitude to the 47-year-old since his departure from Brighton, with Moises Caicedo the next in line.

However, Caicedo made an admission putting Chelsea on alert after revealing it would be a dream to move to west London.
“It made me very sad now that he left for Chelsea, because he helped me a lot and I wanted to continue having him as a manager, but that's football,' Caicedo told Argentine outlet Ole, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“You never know: today you can be here and tomorrow somewhere else, that's the job of a footballer and a coach.
“At Brighton he worked very well and people love him very much. I'm very happy for him and for the great opportunity that was presented to him.”

He added on his future: “Right now I'm very focused on Brighton and the World Cup. I want to have a great World Cup and then we'll see what happens.
“I think they are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It'd be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.”
